the stereo photographs of time & space Two continuous frames, separated by seconds or minutes in time, examine more fully the aura softly surrounding a place as if in a dream. Each can be a metaphor for the other. The two frames are inter-connected in time and placefor while steps may have been taken between each framethey nevertheless are woven together as if no time had elapsed. The frames are photographed with a Holga camera on Kodak CN 400. The two frames are scanned together on an Epson Perfection 4990 and printed on an Epson 2400. Fine Art limited edition prints are available for purchase.

color work The landscape in color incorporates the essential elements of light, composition, texture and form. It is, for me, like creating sculpture or a painting, with an eye toward trying to eliminate the barriers between the three different artistic disciplines. Stock photos are available.

portrait of the prairie Prairie restorations are being seen all over the Great Plains. Two of the finer jobs in the conservation of this native habitat is at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL and Schulenberg Prairie at the Morton Arboretum. These sites are worth a visit to get a sense of what the Midwest looked like more than a hundred years ago. The great variety of native wildflowers and tall grass is most alluring and the smells can be very seductive, especially in late summer when the prairie reaches its peak. Limited edition prints are available for purchase.

early work comprises black & white photographs of Chicago urban scenes from views of the city from 1968-1988, which could be considered architectural documents, to pictures along the riverfront with many bridge shots. Several of the pictures might be considered historical documents as the skyline has changed considerably over the years.

zen photography are pictures of small close-up views of isolated contemplation. Usually these would be missed by the casual viewer as the world around us becomes more and more complex. They are the forgotten pieces of larger views which give rise to newfound refreshment, spiritual renewal and surprise at the small beauties to be found everywhere.

arts & crafts photography allows me to photograph the work of other artists and craftspersons. It becomes a practice of seeing what they have created and to render it faithfully for them in film or digital with the same attention to color, form and texture that they created. The commissions I take are of ceramics, paper, wood, paintings, fabric and jewelry.
